Joe Castrofort was born in Puerto Rico, and grew up in Miami. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Criminal Justice in 1998. He received his Law Degree from Nova Southeastern University. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2001 and practiced as a State Prosecutor in Orange and Osceola counties for just over 4 years.
As a Prosecutor he was a Domestic Violence and DUI Specialist, spent time in the Juvenile Courts, Criminal Intake Division, and handled felonies ranging from drug possession, trafficking, property crimes, to violent crimes through trial.
In late 2005, Mr. Castrofort left the State Attorney's Office and began working with his second family, the attorney's at Payas, Payas, and Payas, where he remains "of counsel". At Payas, He was the senior criminal law associate, under the supervision of his dear friend, Carlos Payas.
Mr. Castrofort, has also been an adjunct professor of criminal justice, and has had the pleasure of seeing his former students in the fields of law enforcement, corrections, and law.
